1956: The founding event for AI, the Dartmouth Conference, is held.

 

In the wake of World War II, engineers and scientist started to consider how computers could become intelligent. How a computer could think, learn and 
manipulate its environment in an informed way. In the summer of 1956, the 18th June to be precise, a two-month conference was held at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. The Dartmouth Conference is nowadays 
widely considered to be the founding event of AI as a field of science......
